Our Story

Sr./Dr. Oralisa Martin, D. Min., Charismatic, Prophetic, Evangelical, Teacher, Leader, Community Advocate

Consecrated in the womb!

Prayers from the mother, father and Sisters of the Holy Family over the child carried in Ora M. Lewis Martin to be a servant of God. Four years later that child was singing the words, “ I'm gonna be a nun” and in 1967 that child was married to Christ. It was then that Thessalona became Sr. Oralisa and a prayer warrior (ORA means to pray, Lisa means warrior) for Jesus Christ!

The course of her life was set. She was spiritually growing up so fast and the Catholic Church quickly recognized Sr. Oralisa's gifts! She could hardly keep up with herself as a woman religious growing in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Teacher, Charismatic

Over the course of more than twenty (20) years, Sr. Oralisa became a teacher to not only the young students of Catholic high schools but began traveling on a national and global tour preaching and healing through Catholic revivals.

Prophetic, Leader

After twenty-three (23) years as a nun, including three (3) serving as the Director of African American Catholics in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Sr. Oralisa heard a "Prophetic Call within her vocation" and left the convent. ORACLE Religious Association was founded two years later. During that time Sr. Oralisa remained in vows and in 1995 transitioned to Private Vows that were received by Bishop Thomas Gumbleton in the name of the Collegiate of bishops of the Roman Catholic Church.

Healer, Community Advocate

Sr. Oralisa has traveled over twenty-three states speaking on behalf of the voiceless, wounded, and dispossessed of the land. Her proclamations are Spirit-filled and bible-driven. Great with the charismatic gift of healing, Sr. Oralisa responds to the diocesan and parish invitations to preach at revivals, to lay hands on the sick, and raise the hopeless to life in Christ.

"Go ye therefore and make disciples..." Mathew 28:19 Bringing the good news to unbelievers is the initial form of evangelization. Sr. Oralisa posses the charisma to teach believers the mysteries of faith such that it makes sense in their lives. She breaks down that word for clarity; then advances the believers' understanding to a point of personal conviction, conversion and ultimate discipleships.
